Software Developer - Full Stack Python Developer (Django, GCP)
Job Description
OptiFunder is looking for a talented Python Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this position you will work directly with our team of Software, QA, Data, and DevOps team members to expand and support the OptiFunder platform and integrations with leading loan origination systems, warehouse lenders, and secondary market investors. The successful candidate is familiar with full-stack development and thrives working within a fast-moving startup environment. Candidates should be eager to embrace ownership and accountability in day-to-day software engineering and will help design, code, test, debug, document, and implement changes to new and existing software products from vision board to product ready systems.
Responsibilities
•Be self-motivated and work with minimal direction. We are a team that executes quickly and thrives on working multiple projects to support the larger vision.
• Develop new features and platform capabilities using the latest developer toolsets
• Expand your Python skills by working on packages, services, scripts, and deployments in a collaborative work environment
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• Contribute to existing data infrastructure and leverage cloud-based technologies Python Developer
• Provide maintenance break/fix support for assigned areas of the platform and triage support issues to other areas of the Engineering Team
• Participate in software scrum projects, communicate status and obstacles to the delivery team, and assist with planning and estimating
• Write Object Oriented Code and perform Object Oriented Analysis/Design activities
• Work on core django web app
• Build and Deploy python serverless functions in Google Cloud Platform
• Debug production issues as needed
Skills and Experience
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
• Five (5) + years of professional software engineering experience within a team-based environment
• Familiarity with mortgage finance, Ellie Mae's Encompass Loan Origination system or other LOS systems is a plus
• Strong practical knowledge of Python: familiarity with generators, decorators and partials as well as knowledge of key Python libraries
• Knowledge and experience in JSON, XML
• API development
• Experience with various types of databases, SQL query, and large data sets
• Python Frameworks: Django, Flask, Django REST, FastAPI
• Web experience: html, stylesheets, css, javascript, alpine js, htmx, tailwind
• Cloud experience: AWS, GCP (We use GCP)
• Experience shipping production code, deployment, logging, monitoring, and documentation
• Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies via self-study and collaboration with team members

Warehouse Lending Operations
OptiFunder’s Warehouse Lending Operations Analyst represents a unique opportunity for the right candidate who will be exposed to a broad range of functions with a primary focus on helping our clients optimize the use of multiple warehouse funding facilities through OptiFunder’s WMS technologies while providing value and service to our platform partners. This is a collaborative role where the Operations Analyst will be highly engaged with the customer with full visibility of the OptiFunder’s span of business activities and will work closely alongside the rest of the firm’s associates and leadership.
Product Analyst - Configuration
As a Product Analyst supporting client on-boarding and support services, you’ll deliver first-to-market, advanced technology to independent mortgage originators to transform their funding process. You’ll regularly work with clients, project managers, subject matter experts and other analysts in the development and delivery of automated solutions that measurably improve performance. Using workflow tools, document recognition and machine learning, you’ll play a critical role in creating a rules-based environment that leverages the combined power of technology and industry expertise in delighting our clients.
RPA Developer
The RPA Developer leverages intelligent automation technologies and various toolsets to develop complex robotic process automation (RPA) solutions to existing business processes. The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring designed automations are providing the required results through testing, monitoring, technical support, and continued process optimization.
Senior Data Scientist
This candidate should have a deep knowledge and experience in Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, and Optimization algorithms. This role is responsible for scaling, enhancing and maintaining existing models within our software. He or she will lead end-to-end execution of our data science efforts, driving development of deep analytical methodologies, from hypothesis development to scaled production. The ideal candidate will be passionate about exploring and leading development and implementation of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive analytics, cognitive technology, ML/AI, and automation.
